How to reach us, which address to use, what we can help with, and who operates this site.
Where to write
Email is the way to reach us. Please use the address that matches your message — it decides who reads it and how quickly.
- General questions and feedback — contact@moneyinjapan.com
- Questions about the library, suggestions for what to cover next, press enquiries, and partnership or advertising proposals.
- Privacy and personal information — privacy@moneyinjapan.com
- Disclosure, correction, suspension-of-use and deletion requests under APPI, and access, erasure, objection or consent-withdrawal requests under the GDPR or California law. Say which right you are exercising and give us something we can match to a record.
- Copyright, trademark and legal notices — legal@moneyinjapan.com
- Rights-holder notices and other legal correspondence. For an infringement notice, identify the work, the exact URL of the material, the basis of your rights, and how we can reach you; we act on complete notices promptly, and we will tell you what we did.
- Security reports — security@moneyinjapan.com
- Vulnerability reports. Please give us a reasonable window to fix an issue before disclosing it, do not access other readers’ data, and do not run tests that degrade the service. We will not pursue good-faith research reported this way.
For a factual error in the library, the corrections form is faster than email: it asks for the page, what is wrong and a source we can check, which is exactly what we need to act.
What we can and cannot help with
We can fix a mistake, explain how something on the site works, tell you where a figure came from, point you at the official source, and take a request about your personal information.
We read messages in English and Japanese. We aim to acknowledge a message within a few business days, and to complete a personal-information request within 14 days — if it will take longer, we will tell you why. We keep correspondence for about 24 months so a published correction can be traced back to the message that prompted it.
Operator information
These operator details can be published per deployment (see docs/LEGAL.md). Until they are, we provide them — operator name, the person responsible, and registered address — to anyone who asks, without delay, as APPI requires. The operator is based in Japan and the site is operated under Japanese law.
This site sells nothing and takes no payment from readers, so the notice required of a distance seller under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions does not apply to it today. If a paid service is ever offered, that notice — with pricing, payment, delivery and cancellation terms — will be published before the first sale.
