Earning, funding, and withdrawal
au PAY is KDDI’s QR payment, set up with an au ID and funded by bank account, cash, supported cards, carrier pathways, or the au PAY Card — funding eligibility differs by card issuer and account status. Ordinary au PAY spending earns approximately 0.5% Ponta, and Gold autocharge can add up to five percent under conditions and a monthly bonus cap. Eligible au PAY Money can be sent and withdrawn: au Jibun Bank withdrawal is free under current terms, while other banks generally cost ¥220 per withdrawal, with a ¥100,000 per-transaction maximum. Bill and tax payments are supported in designated cases, but reward eligibility must be checked separately. It is best for Ponta, au, and UQ users.

Frequently asked questions
Can au PAY balance be withdrawn?
Eligible au PAY Money can be sent and withdrawn. Withdrawal to au Jibun Bank is free under current terms, while other banks generally cost ¥220 per withdrawal, with a ¥100,000 per-transaction maximum. Ponta points earned through au PAY are separate from withdrawable Money.
Can Ponta transfer to JAL miles?
Yes, ordinarily at two Ponta points to one JAL mile, which makes Ponta a natural fit for JAL flyers. A standard Ponta balance generally expires after one year without an earning or use transaction, so keep it active.
