Changing your NISA provider
Plan a provider change without confusing existing holdings with new purchase capacity.
System rules
- A change generally applies by calendar year; deadlines and whether you already purchased matter.
- Existing NISA holdings do not move into the new provider’s NISA account.
Provider features to verify
- Change/closure notification forms and deadlines
- Treatment of recurring orders and cash
- Access to old holdings after the change
Steps
- Stop and record recurring orders.
- Ask both institutions for the current sequence and documents.
- Keep confirmations and verify the new account before ordering.
Safety notes
- Do not sell solely to “transfer” without checking tax and market consequences.
